Samenvatting

In our continuously changing world, at a period of hegemonic capitalism and individualism, there are pockets of (renewed) recognition of the need for inclusive, ethically grounded, and sustainable modes of living. Intersecting crises—climate change, social fragmentation, economic inequality, platform feudalism, political instability —demand not only practical solutions but also renewed moral and epistemological foundations (Francis, 2017, World Alliance of Reformed Churches, 2004). Against this backdrop, we propose a dialogue between two philosophical traditions: Ubuntu, rooted in African communal practice, and Rhineland thinking, grounded in European human-centred organizing. Despite their distinct historical and cultural trajectories, both traditions offer equivalent frameworks for inclusive, value-driven, and sustainable guidance.
