To analyze on-water rowing performance, a valid determination of the power loss due to the generation of propulsion is required. This power los can be calculated as the dot product of the net water force vector ( ~ F w;o ) and the time derivative of the position vector of the point at the blade where …

Small medium enterprises represent the largest share of revenues in the apparel and fashion business, compared to larger integrated companies. Small companies however often have to rely on larger suppliers in order to efficiently produce their products. These larger suppliers however will often prioritize …

New technologies or approaches are being widely developed and proposed to be deployed in real energy systems to improve desired objectives; however, supporting decision making processes to select best solutions in terms of performance and efficiently following cost-benefit analysis require some sort …

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Malnutrition and sarcopenia are common nutrition (-related) disorders in patients with COPD and are associated with negative health outcomes and mortality. This study aims to correlate ultrasound measured rectus femoris size with fat-free mass and muscle function in patients with …

Sometimes people return stronger from a battle, while also the opposite is sometimes true (a battle, restriction or limitation is disastrous. Isolation and restricted attention can sometimes lead to motivation and inventiveness, while comfort and continuous access can lead to passivity and stagnation. …

There 's a largely unnoticed power that multinationals (electronics giants, Google, Facebook, etc.) have in our lives, including upbringing and education. And like magic oil, digital techniques are good for everything. No condition is conceivable, or there is an app for it. Certainly, if there is none, …

We introduce two novel methods for multivariate genome-wide-association meta-analysis (GWAMA) of related traits that correct for sample overlap. A broad range of simulation scenarios supports the added value of our multivariate methods relative to univariate GWAMA. We applied the novel methods to life …

PURPOSE: Athletes require feedback in order to comply with prescribed training programs designed to optimize their performance. In rowing, current feedback parameters on intensity are inaccurate. Mechanical power output is a suitable objective measure for training intensity, but due to movement restrictions …

Biogas is produced from biomass by means of digestion. Treated to so-called ‘green gas’, it can replace natural gas. Alternatively, biogas can be used to produce electrical power and heat in a combined heat power (CHP) installation. In 2014 global biogas production was only 1% of natural gas production. …

This paper deals with the networking implementation and optimizations for a VR and AR game with mocap suit, voice over IP and gameplay data like player information, lobby, etc. The logic for implementing these systems in the game is studied. First, there is a general description of the game so the reader …
