Lignocellulose represents an abundant repository of renewable carbon. Derived from various plant sources, it holds tremendous potential as a renewable and sustainable feedstock for the production of valuable chemicals and fuels. However, its solid fermentable compounds, cellulose and hemicellulose, are …

Computed tomography (CT) at the third lumbar vertebra (L3) is widely used for muscle quantification, but manual segmentation is labor intensive. This study externally validates an AI model, trained on a public dataset, for automated L3 muscle segmentation using an independent cohort, including a subgroup …

Awareness of climate change and stricter emission regulations have accelerated the search for sustainable energy solutions. A central goal is carbon-neutral energy use, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring reliable energy supply. In applications with limited grid access—such as festivals, …

This thesis explores how column placement in a semi-sunken parking garage can be optimised to enhance traffic flow, maximise parking capacity, and reliably transfer structural loads from four residential floors above. The project is based on the Sea & City development in Vlissingen, the Netherlands—a …

Het stimuleren van zelfregulerend leren (SRL) binnen kort cyclisch onderwijs (zoals een minor), geeft specifieke uitdagingen en kansen.
