Indoor service robots need perception that is robust, more privacy-friendly than RGB video, and feasible on embedded hardware. We present a camera-free 2D LiDAR object detection pipeline that encodes short-term temporal context by stacking three consecutive scans as RGB channels, yielding a compact YOLOv8n …

Business model innovation (BMI) in smart industry contexts requires tools that simultaneously provide analytical rigor for modeling multi-actor value networks and collaborative engagement for facilitating cross-organizational innovation. Current BMI tools force practitioners to choose: ontology-based …

The increasing penetration of renewable energy (RE) and hydrogen technologies is reshaping the operational requirements of modern decarbonised energy systems, necessitating advanced control strategies to coordinate renewable generation, hydrogen storage, and heterogeneous end‐use demands. This paper …

Purpose: Emotional exhaustion is a core component of burnout and impacts return-to-work trajectories following sick leave due to burnout or stress. Previous research identified links between emotional exhaustion and sleep, physical activity, mobility, and smartphone usage, yet little is known about how …

Efficient hydrogen (H2) storage remains a major challenge for clean energy applications. This study presents an AI-driven methodology to optimize H2 storage in porous carbon adsorbents. A comprehensive dataset of 917 literature-derived entries was used to develop two machine learning models: Random Forest …

Methane, the primary component of natural gas, emits less carbon dioxide than other petroleum-based fuels but faces challenges in efficient storage and transportation. Advanced adsorption materials provide a safe and cost-effective solution, with metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) emerging as promising …

The demand for assistive technology is expected to rise alongside the increasing care needs of aging populations. Ambient intelligence, particularly context awareness, offers potential benefits in addressing challenges faced by the healthcare system. In dementia care, context awareness can facilitate …

Reinforcement learning offers a promising approach for personalized, early-stage detection of behavioral events such as agitation in individuals with dementia, particularly when contextual insights from care staff are integrated. Given the scarcity and the ethical constraints of real-world agitation …
