We present the Stargazing Live! program comprising a planetarium experience and supporting lesson activities for pre-university physics education. The mobile planetarium aims to inspire and motivate learners using real telescope data during the experience. Learners then consolidate their learning by …

To focus on frailty prevention from a public health perspective, understanding of frailty status is needed. To enable measurement of frailty …

The use of machine learning in embedded systems is an interesting topic, especially with the growth in popularity of the Internet of Things (IoT). The capacity of a system, such as a robot, to self-localize, is a fundamental skill for its navigation and decision-making processes. This work focuses on …

The effects of stress may be alleviated when its impact or a decreased stress-resilience are detected early. This study explores whether wearable-measured sleep and resting HRV in police officers can be predicted by stress-related Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) measures in preceding days and predict …

5% to 10% of all cancers are linked to gene mutations inherited from parents. The most common gene related to hereditary cancer is the p53 gene. It is a crucial tumor suppressor. However, the mutated gene is commonly inherited from one generation to another one. The functions of p53 resume to the activation …

In this study, aviation, energy, exergy, environmental, exergoeconomic, and exergoenvironmental analyses are performed on a CFM56-3 series high by-pass turbofan engine fueled with Jet-A1 fuel. Specific fuel consumption and specific thrust of the engine are found to be 0.01098 kg/kN.s and 0.3178 kN/kg/s, …

Despite tremendous efforts, the exact structure of SARS-CoV-2 and related betacoronaviruses remains elusive. SARS-CoV-2 envelope is a key structural component of the virion that encapsulates viral RNA. It is composed of three structural proteins, spike, membrane (M), and envelope, which interact with …

BACKGROUND: Mobility is a key determinant and outcome of healthy ageing but its definition, conceptual framework and underlying constructs within the physical domain may need clarification for data comparison and sharing in ageing research. This study aimed to (1) review definitions and conceptual frameworks …

As a Jazz and Classical Saxophone player, I sought to combine both worlds in my own compositions. As an admirer of Bach, I chose to combine the fugue as a form and compositional tool with Jazz to create an own original Jazz-fugue. This thesis seeks to find ways how to incorporate the form of Classical …
